  • [2017 Team Project] 2017 WTF World Taekwondo Championship Muju Orientation
  • On June 5th, Dream Together Master 4th batch students had an orientation at T1 Arena, Muju to start their 2017 Team Project. The students will participate in this mega sport event as volunteers and will support taekwondo athletes from all over the world. During the orientation, the staffs of  World Taekwondo Championship committee explained supporting plan, safety management, and accommodations to the students.   • [Field Trip] FIFA U-20 World Cup-Suwon World Cup Stadium
  • As an extracurricular activity, Dream Together Master 4th batch students visited the Suwon World Cup Stadium to watch a U-20 soccer match (Uruguay  vs Saudi Arabia).   • The module aims to provide the student with both a theoretical and an applied understanding of how the sport industry and media work together. The module is specifically designed to develop an appreciation of the sport media and communication process as it relates to the sport organizations, sponsors, advertisers, the customers, fans, the public, and related policy makers. The course allows students the opportunity to gain insight into the global perspective of the sport media, and the approach will be from the perspective of media industry and public policy.   • The aim of this module is to obtain an understanding of the concept of journalism by using of multimedia elements such as photos and videos. Also, the course provides opportunity to gain a sense of the challenges and opportunities in the sports media industries in the 21st century and write some of the building blocks of sports writing such as game story, profile, and feature.   • Dream Together Master at SportAccord Convention 2017 in Aarhus, Denmark
  • Dream Together Master participated in the SportAccord Convention 2017 which was staged from April 2nd to 7th in Aarhus, Denmark. Professor Joon-ho Kang (Director) and two assistant coordinators of the program managed the exhibition booth as delegates representing the Korea’s Dream Together Project.   As part of the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s ODA (Official Development Assistance) project, Dream Together Project offers an opportunity for developing countries to learn from Korea’s expertise and knowhow in sports it has acquired in the process of becoming one of the sporting powerhouses of the world. The project consists of four programs: (1) educating sports administrators (through the Dream Together Master), (2) educating sports coaches, (3) training invited athletes at the Jincheon National Training Center, and (4) Dispatching coaches, provision of sports equipment.   The main purpose of the Dream Together Master, in attending the convention, was to promote the program to the participants, to develop new business opportunities, and to attract future students who are currently working as sport administrators.   SportAccord Convention, a 5-day annual gathering of leading representatives from international sport, is the world’s premier event at the service of sport, focused on driving positive change internationally, and dedicated to engaging rights holders, organizing committees, cities, businesses and other organizations in the development of sport. (Source: SportAccord)   SportAccord Convention brings together representatives from more than 92 International Sports Federations and organizations from 135 cities/regions affiliated to SportAccord and almost 1600 registered participants attended the convention this year.

  • [Special Lecture] Dr. Chungwon Choue
  • On April 28th, DTM had a special lecture with a very special guest from the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), President Chungwon Choue. He gave a presentation with the tile of "Social Responsibility of International Sport Federation - Globalization of Taedwondo." He mentioned that WTF put a lot of efforts, such as launching reform committee, expanding media exposure and participation of women and handicapped, and improving fairness of referees to remain as a core sport of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic. Also, he emphasized that the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation (THF), a WTF initiative, would be able to assist and empower refugees, and so it will enable to carry out its social responsibility as an international federation.
