- [Special Lecture] Prof. Joshua Newman
- A special Lecture was held on June 2nd, 2016 at Seoul National University Building 152 Seminar Room. Prof. Joshua Newman gave a lecture about the American Sport Industry. Speaker: Prof. Joshua Newman (Associate Professor of Media, Politics, and Cultural Studies in the Department of Sport Management at Florida State University)Date: June 2nd, 2016Title: "Sports Business in America: Critical reflections on markets, health, and social benefits of sport and physical activity"Prof. Choonghoon LIM(Department of Physical Education, Seoul National University, REPUBLIC OF KOREA) introducing the lecturer.Prof. Joshua Newman talked about the US Sport System which affects Markets, Society and Education.Professor mentioned that the total value of US Sports Industry has increased by approximately 10% per year over the past three decades. But still the commercialization of girls' and women's sport has resulted in new forms of sexism (and racism). - [Sport Field Trip] Seoul E.Land FC Soccer Team
- In hopes of spreading and developing international sports markets, Students of developing countries were invited to participate in a visit to the Seoul Olympic Main Stadium, the largest stadium in Korea as well as the location of the 1988 Olympic game. During the visit, the students were granted the privilege of meeting and interacting with the Seoul E-Land Football Club’s players and associated staff members in the team’s locker rooms and operation offices, which are areas restricted to outsiders. - [Class] Module 22 Sport Contract & Labor Law
- The goals of this course to understand the foundational principles of contract and labor law and common contract and labor law doctrines that control parties in sport business and to develop critical mindset in sport-related agreements and labor negotiations. - [Class] Module 21 Sport Media
- The module aims to provide the student with both a theoretical and an applied understanding of how the sport industry and media work together. The module is specifically designed to develop an appreciation of the sport media and communication process as it relates to the sport organizations, sponsors, advertisers, the customers, fans, the public, and related policy makers. The course allows students the opportunity to gain insight into the global perspective of the sport media, and the approach will be from the perspective of media industry and public policy.Date : May 16 - 20, 2016Venue : Seoul National University Building 153 Room 101Theme 7 : Sport Media and CommunicationModule 21 : Sport MediaProfessor : Kihan KIM (Department of Physical Education, Seoul National University, REPUBLIC OF KOREA)Prof. Kihan, DTM Director, starting the first class of the module.Professor explaining about the theoretical and applied understanding of how the sport industry and media work together.Professor emphasized the Value of Media Sport, that TV is not as we know it. - [Sport Field Trip] Gocheok Sky Dome Baseball Stadium
- As an extracurricular activity, the opportunity to visit to Gocheok Sky Dome, the Nexen Heroes’ home stadium was given to the DTM students. Gocheok Sky Dome is well known as the first dome stadium in Korea. This new experience gave students the privilege to learn about the team’s management operations, facility administration, and sports marketing strategies. Date: May 24th, 2016 (Tuesday)Venue: Gocheok Sky Dome Baseball StadiumDream Together Master Program 3rd batch students attended the sport field trip to Nexen Heroes Basketball Club's home ground.A group photo before entering the Gocheok Sky Dome Stadium. We saw 30 different restaurants and shops where baseball fans can enjoy their time. Mr. Bryce, a staff in Dream Together Master Program, interpreted the introducing presentation of the Facility Manager. Students concentrating on the Gocheok Sky Dome presentation. Students had the opportunity to visit the best sit in the stadium 'Diamond Club'. Students enjoying the enormous view and seats in Diamond Club. - [Special Lecture] Mr. Sunghoon JUNG
- A special Lecture was held on May 20th, 2016 at Seoul National University Building 152 Seminar Room. Mr. Sunghoon JUNG gave a lecture about the sport venues with regards to fan experience, revenue, branding, sponsorship and technology. From this lecture, students had an opportunity to understand the importance of sport facilities and what Rossetti provides to the sport.Speaker: Mr. Sunghoon JUNG (Senior Associate at ROSSETTI)Date: May 20th, 2016Title: "Designing Experiences Generating Value in Sporting Venue"Dream Together Master Program's Director Kihan introducing the lecturer, Mr. Sunghoon JUNG.Mr. Sunghoon JUNG started his lecture by introducing his works in Rossetti.Students noded when the Mr. Sung explained that the sport fans are remained due to 'nostalgia'.Mr. Sung emphasized 'Designing Experiences & Generative Value'. - [Korean Langauage Course] 2016 Spring Semester Course Ended
- Dream Together Master Class of 2015-2017 has finished their spring semester Korean Language Course. The Korean Language course is for adults with no prior knowledge of Korean who acquire the communication skills necessary for everyday life. The course was a 30 hour course focusing on teaching students without any prior knoledge of the Korean language to read, write, and converse in Korean by providing basic vocabulary and grammar structure used in everyday situation. The goal of this course is to facilitate students in learning basic communication expressions commonly used in real life situations by practicing reading, writing, and listening example set of conversations outlined with different everyday life topics. The students who are in advanced levels also learn topics such as family, transportation, etiquette, health, and shopping that will be utilized to facilitate better understanding of Korean society and culture.- Course Duration: 10 weeks (Monday & Thursday)- Class hours: 6:30pm ~ 9:20pm (3 class hours a day)Two of Korean teachers and students having a group photo in their class. - [Class] Module 20 Sport Journalism
- The aim of this module is to obtain an understanding of the concept of journalism by using of multimedia elements such as photos and videos. - This course is a graduate-level independent learning class on various aspects of sport public relations. This course is designed to develop and apply an understanding of the concepts and principles of public relations in sport organizations (e.g., National Olympic Committee, college & professional sports). Sport public relations is a management function where practitioners use communication skills to foster positive relationships with key publics (e.g., media, community, & consumers).Date : April 30, May 2 - 4, 2016Venue : Seoul National University Building 153 Room 101Theme 7 : Sport Media and CommunicationModule 19 : Sport Public RelationsProfessor : Choonghoon LEE (Department of Physical Education, Seoul National University, REPUBLIC OF KOREA)Professor Choonghoon LIM in his first class of Module 19 Sport Public Relations.Professor explaining about PR Campaign. There are various types of sport PR campaigns; those campaigns are often designed to attract media attention and to improve organization's image.Students shared and analized their real-life public relations issues.Students selected a major sport organization of their choice and analyzed the factual information like annual report executive summary, communication strategy, and positioning strategy as well as current IMC tactics.Students developed a self-publicity video as a part of in-class activities, which can also be used as video resume. - Information Session with the Embassy of Oman in Korea
- Omani Ambassador Mohamed Salim Alharthy visited office of the Dream Together Master Program and had a productive meeting with Director Kihan Kim. Ambassador Alharthy had a huge interest in the Dream Together Master Program and had a constructive conversation about the program's vision and mission with Director Kim.Ambassador also shared the Embassy of Oman in Korea's mission about DTM program and built a relationship through discussing about the futre cooperation plans with in the organizations.
