Monday, January 11, 2016
The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) today announced that following the success of the current programme, it will be partnering with the Dream Together Programme at Seoul National University for another year as it continues to provide opportunities for NOCs to learn from international best practices.
ANOC will offer five scholarships to NOCs for the 2016/2017 programme which begins in late August 2016 and ends in December 2017. ANOC has invited all NOCs administrators or athletes with higher education qualifications and a proficiency in English to apply for one of the five scholarships ahead of the 12 February 2016 deadline. Once all the applications have been received, ANOC will recommend five candidates for an interview at Seoul National University before final confirmation is made in June 2016.
ANOC’s partnership with Seoul National University began in January 2015 when the Association signed an MOU with the Division of Global Sport Management Talent Development at Seoul National University. In June 2015, ANOC selected its first five scholars to take part in the course which began in August 2015.
Having completed their first semester at the end of last year, the scholars have spoken highly of the programme and described it as one of “the best&” and most “invaluable experiences&” of their lives. The course has taught them about sport humanities, sports event management, sport organisation and governance, and sports marketing and sponsorship. As well has being taught by internationally recognised professors, the scholars have received special lectures from well-known administrations within the sport industry.
