I am passionate about content creation, especially visual content creation. During my free time, I love reading and networking with people. I appreciate the value of networking because of the potential that it has in opening new doors to opportunities that you never imagined you could get. I consider myself an extroverted introvert something that sometimes most people do not know. So, when not working on school work and my YouTube Channel “Side chat with Nashon” I am hanging out with friends, listening to music or somewhere hiding in my introverted cocoon. I am driven in life by the philosophy that we can experience life once so I try as much as possible to bask in the moment and enjoy every moment to the fullest. I believe in excelling not only in my academics but also in my co-curricular and career life as well.
Getting elected as the president of the 10th batch is one of the best things to happen to me in Korea. Being the president has given me the opportunity to learn more about how to interact with my classmates and new people. My most memorable experience as President is getting the opportunity to meet with the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach soon after he received his Honorary Doctorate from SNU. Apart from that I will always remember the opportunity that DTM gave me to share a stage with sports professionals during the Dream Together Seoul Forum. In preparation for the 2022 edition of the event, I was honored to put together and administer the DTM Alumni student Oath that will be part of the DTM for years to come.
One of the biggest lessons that I have learned being a leader is that working with people is never an easy job because most of the time you will be dealing with people from different backgrounds and personalities. As a result of this, I have learned to be more patient and listen to everyone’s opinion before making a decision. The reality is sometimes the decisions that you make might not be favorable to everyone but at the end of the day it is important to make those tough decisions. Being a leader has taught me that it is important to lead by example because it is easier to convince people when you are leading by example.
The DTM experience has been very eye-opening for me because of the opportunities that it has provided for me. Not every day do you get to be in a classroom full of people of many nationalities at once. The fact that DTM has provided this opportunity for me has really enriched my experience. The diversity of the DTM class is one of the things that I love about the DTM program. So far the experience has been very good because I have been able to visit places that I never imagined I would visit. From skiing, at the slopes of PyeongChang to watching matches at the World Cup stadium to watching K cycle racing at the speedom. All these experiences would not be possible without the DTM. A very important part of my DTM experience is the diverse nature of the lecturers who bring a touch of academic experience and field experience to the lecture room. Being part of this part of experience is something that I intend to carry with me even when I go back home.
