6th Batch Umaimah from Malaysia joined the Malaysian Golf Youth Skills Academy under the Malaysian Youth and Sports Ministry Skills Training Institute as Deputy Director after her DTM graduation where she plans to install Golfzon as a means to promote golf.
Golfzon is a Korean indoor golf simulator technology used both by golf athletes and golf aficionados alike for practice and leisure.
Before the decision to install Golfzon at the academy, Umaimah organized a bench marking program to see if the golf simulator equipment would be well-received.
The program was a success with the Deputy Minister of the Malaysian Ministry Youth and Sports as the main guest and lots of reporters reporting for news coverage.
“Most of the participants have no experience playing golf before,” said Umaimah regarding the program feedback. “They were all impressed with the technology!”
Umaimah wishes to visit caddy academies in Korea in the future to further develop the golf industry in Malaysia, and her experience is a great example of how sport-related organizations in different countries cooperate for the development of sport.
