DTM collaborated with L&K sport management group, the only sport business club in Seoul National University, to hold a virtual seminar with the topic of “Planning Sport for Development Programs and Businesses” on December 17.
L&K strives to become the “Leading Key” in the sport industry through research, and they conducted market researches in Nigeria, Brazil, and Vietnam to propose development projects through sport, in which DTM students gave comments such as the feasibility of such propositions.
This was the first time DTM cooperated with a club consisting of only SNU undergraduate students, and both parties expected a synergy of research as members of DTM and L&K have profound academic interest in sport management.
In its market research on Vietnam’s fast growing e-sports market, L&K found a lack of commercial player utilization, self-sustaining growth through game-related technology, and world-class e-sports competition quality. On the other hand, South Korea is an e-sports powerhouse with a good record in developing e-sports related technology, resulting in a proposal that bilateral cooperation between the two countries could further develop Vietnam’s e-sports.
L&K proposed business strategies to phasing into the Brazilian “e-sports participation” market to revitalize the overall e-sports participation market. They selected Korean e-sports operators and Brazilian e-sports companies that can participate in joint ventures to distribute the overall growth and reduce expected risks of the e-sports participation market.
To enhance self-empowerment of girls in Nigeria through sports, L&K proposed to provide Taekwondo education program to female students at the Nigeria-Korea Model school established by KOICA. The team developed a sustainable Taekwondo program for Nigerian female teenagers with respect to the local values and regulations.
