One of the best and fastest ways to learn Korean culture is to experience taekwondo, a Korean traditional martial art which not only helps people to gain physical strength but also simultaneously helps in training one ‘ s body and spirit as well as intensifying positive personality traits and spiritual strength.
On December 1st, 2018, Dream Together Master 6th batch students took a cultural experience tour to Taekwondowon – Mecca for world taekwondo. By participating in various programs, the DTM students experienced unique Korean culture and philosophical basis for taekwondo.
On the first day, the tour began with a visit to National Taekwondo Museum and auditorium to watch taekwondo demonstration. The students learned history of taekwondo through their participation in the museum and enjoyed the performance which captured the all students’ attentions as the athletes were thrown into the air and smashed boards. The tour was followed by participation in taekwon drum and breaking programs. Students from various countries were fascinated by Korean traditional melodies while playing drums and built up self-confidence and overcame fear by breaking pine boards with hands and feet.
