Enjoy cultures from around the world in one place through food and arts. DTM 5th batch students, David Hodgson, Arturo Alvarez, and Paulina Pino Arias had opportunity to represent the embassy of Costa Rica at the Global Food Festival Nurimasil 2018 which was an international cultural event for people around the world to promote not only their traditional food and art but society and religion to the local Korean community.
During the festival, the students showed off their cooking skills. Especially, David Hodgson introduced traditional Costa Rican foods called “Patacones,” one of the most popular Costa Rican foods made of fried green plantain combine with pico de gallo, shredded beef, and refried beans and “Gallos de Pollo,” traditional Costa Rican regional cuisine made of corn flour tortillas with shredded chicken breast and Pico de Gallo.

“It was a great time to not only promote my country “Costa Rica” itself but also introduce our traditional foods to people all over the world. I hope that more events like this will open to share indigenous culture,” David said.
The festival marks its tenth anniversary this year, and more than 30 embassies in Korea were cordially invited to embrace globalization and promote social integration.
