Dr. William A. “Bill” Sutton is a distinguished academician and a proven sports marketing practitioner. He currently holds an appointment as Founding Director and Professor at the Sport and Entertainment Business Management Graduate Program in the Management Department at the University of South Florida and is the founder and principal of Bill Sutton & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in strategic marketing, revenue enhancement and organizational chemistry.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”944″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dr. Joon-ho Kang, Founding Director of Dream Together Master Program and Dr. William Bill Sutton, Founding Director of Sport and Entertainment Management Program having a photo before the special lecture.
Dr. William Bill Sutton gave a presentation on sports future evolution based on his unique and ample experience. He started his speech by giving a question “What does the next 5-10 years look like?.” Students mentioned few points as evolution of sponsorship, e-sports etc. The lecturer said that the seats of the sport games can be financed just like a mortgage for up to 50 years. During his presentation, virtual reality used in sport field and its impact was discussed. He said that virtual reality brings the fan sitting at home to feel as sitting courtside at the game which is a way to keep the sports fan. He has introduced his insights on variety of use in Virtual Reality(VR) giving an example of helping paraplegics regain body functions and more. He was amazed to explain the future evolution that will happen and help in sport business. He closed his lecture by emphasizing the employment opportunities in the next decade will foster that the industry is looking for explorers. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Celebrating the signing an MOU between FISU and DTM, he gave a special lecture about “The International University Sport Movement Inspiring the Sport Leaders of Tomorrow” on November 17th, 2016 at Seoul National University Building 101 Room 210. At first, he introduced what FISU does and when it had been inaugurated, followed by coping with the main issues in sports community such as doping, corruption, violence, racism, etc. and urging the necessity for using sports as an educational tool for society. Lastly, he inspired DTM students to run forward to become a good future sports leader and gave several specific suggestions to achieve it. The Ms. Theresa (Seung-yun) Rah from Oratio gave a lecture about the “Communications Lessons from PyeongChang 2018”. She mentioned that the presentation skills can be improved by endless practice and untiring efforts. Also, she emphasized that active listening is more important than active speaking in communication, and then she said “Dream Together Master students probably know how to work internationally, so that they will just need to pay attention and listen to each other with different culture and accent.”
At the end of class, Ms. Theresa (Seung-yun) Rah provided question and answer session which students could share their opinions and improve their communication skills.
