Ginseng is one of the most popular herbal supplements in the world, especially in Asia where it has been used for the treatment and prevention of many ailments. Recently, it is also used to increase work efficiency and is purported to increase energy and physical stamina among athletes.
“In the research, we found that acute ginseng supplementation was effective to maintain exercise performance and cognitive function during cycling exercise and seven days ginseng supplementation were effective to improve recovery from cycling exercise too,” he said. “Chronic effect of enhanced physical performance, cognitive function, and blood variable after ginseng administration in longitudinal and well-designed investigations remains to be demonstrated.”
