- [Team Project] 18th FINA World Championships Gwangju 2019
- As a part of Team Project, Dream Together Master 6th batch students participated in the 18th FINA World Championships Gwangju 2019 and played a role as as a volunteer (Team assistance) from July 15 – July 28, 2019. DTM students were assigned to the swimming teams based on their nationality. By hosting the 18th FINA World Championships 2019, which is being considered one of the largest ever done, with over 8,000 athletes taking part, Korea became a hosting country of the world’s 5 mega sports events . The students have been divided into small teams to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the international championships operations and will provide constructive feedback on what improvements can be made after the championships ends. Since 2014, the Dream Together Master students have participated in sport mega-events such as 17th Asian Games, 28th Summer Universiade, 2017 World Taekwondo Championships, and 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. - Module 28 Sport Policy
- The aim of the module is to develop a critical understanding of the policy process in relation to sport. The module provides an understanding of the concept of policy and the nature of interests and power in the policy process. The module will also examine the significance of international policy actors for domestic/national policy processes. The module will review a range of macro-level and meso-level theories of the policy process in order to equip students with a conceptual language and knowledge of a range of analytical frameworks to enable them to conduct analysis of sport policy in both developing and developed countries. - Module 27 Sport for Health Promotion
- The central goal of this module is to utilize the theory of planned behavior in their research and practice and understand about origins, historical development, and constructs in the theory of planned behavior. Students specifically learn about the following techniques: (1) Principles of behavioral research design; (2) Objectives, philosophy, and methods of science including causal inference, the role of hypotheses, criteria for establishing adequate hypotheses, research designs, and data collection techniques; and (3) Formulation of a research problem within a program setting. - Module 26 Sport Development and Peace
- The central goal of this module is to develop a critical understanding of sport development. Sport development is considered here to have two main dimensions: ‘sport for development and peace’ (SDP), which uses sport to pursue wider social benefits; and ‘development of sport’, which focuses on building up sport in itself, such as through increasing public participation in sport, developing new sport facilities, and improving sport performances. - Module 24 Sport Arbitration
- The aim of this Module is to provide the student with a basic theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of the settlement of sports-related disputes, both sporting and commercial ones, particularly those with an international dimension, through the process of arbitration. Class sessions follow a seminar/discussion format, with some case studies and practical exercises undertaken under the supervision of the Module Presenter. - Module 25 Korean Physical Education System
- The main goal of this module is to provide historical and current status of Korean physical education system. DTM students were able to understand how school physical education, sport for all, and elite sport in Korea have been shaped in relation to unique Korean cultural and social contexts. The module provides students with both theoretical and applied understanding of the various approaches in development through sport. Also, it provides an understanding of diverse sport-based youth development approaches and examine youth development programs implemented in diverse settings. - Module 23 Legal Aspects of Sport Marketing
- The goal of this course is to know the different organizational forms of legal entities in sports and gain knowledge of the general sports organization and its development. Also, students will learn the difference between the European and the US sports system and its advantages and disadvantages. - Module 22 Sport Contract Law
- The central purpose of this module is introducing primary rules of contract and labor law pertinent to management and governance of private and public sport organizations. Upon successful completion of this module, students are expected to understand basic rules of contract and labor law in terms of management and governance of sport organizations, understand purpose of common contract and labor provisions in sport context, and critically examine contract and labor deals in sport. - The aim of this module is to obtain an understanding of the concept of journalism by using of multimedia elements such as photos and videos. Also, the course provides opportunity to gain a sense of the challenges and opportunities in the sports media industries in the 21st century and write some of the building blocks of sports writing such as game story, profile, and feature. - Module 20 Sport Media
- The module aims to provide the student with both a theoretical and an applied understanding of how the sport industry and media work together. The module is specifically designed to develop an appreciation of the sport media and communication process as it relates to the sport organizations, sponsors, advertisers, the customers, fans, the public, and related policy makers. The course allows students the opportunity to gain insight into the global perspective of the sport media, and the approach will be from the perspective of media industry and public policy.
